Sheet Metal Equipment Guard

The Sheet Metal Equipment Guard is designed with a primary function of protecting internal equipment from dust, liquid splashes, and external environmental impact. The enclosure structure directly affects the reliability and service life of the internal components.

The standard protection rating is IP54, providing basic dust resistance and splash protection. For applications requiring frequent washing or high-pressure cleaning, an upgraded IP65 sealed structure is available. This version uses integrated sealing strips and waterproof structural design to prevent liquid ingress.

A case from a food processing equipment manufacturer required daily high-pressure washing. The previous enclosure allowed water ingress, resulting in circuit board failure. After redesigning the structure with silicone sealing strips and an IP65 sealing system, internal components remained completely dry even after continuous daily cleaning for one month.

Material options include SPCC cold-rolled steel and SGCC galvanized steel for standard industrial use. For outdoor environments requiring higher corrosion resistance, SUS304 stainless steel is used. For lightweight structural applications, 5052 aluminum is available. Standard material thickness ranges from 1.2 mm to 2.0 mm, with heavy-duty versions available up to 5.0 mm.

Production is carried out using laser cutting and CNC bending processes, ensuring dimensional consistency and repeatability. Structural joints are either welded or assembled using snap-in connection systems depending on design requirements.

Access doors, ventilation slots, and inspection openings are integrated into the structure based on customer drawings. Door dimensions, position, and ventilation layout can be fully customized.

Lock alignment tolerance: ≤ 0.2 mm

Overall flatness: ≤ 0.2 mm per 100 mm

For outdoor applications, electrostatic powder coating with a thickness of 70–120 μm is applied, providing corrosion resistance exceeding 200-hour salt spray testing. For indoor applications, blue-white zinc or yellow zinc plating is available. Stainless steel surfaces can be supplied in brushed or polished finishes depending on aesthetic requirements.

To prevent surface damage during manufacturing, protective film is applied to raw sheets before cutting and forming. Sample production time is typically 3–5 days for standard structures and 5–10 days for complex designs.
